About

My Story

Adele Griffin, certified personal trainer and Pilates instructor

Fitness has been a consistent passion and encouragement for me throughout my life. It helps me to feel good, move confidently, and discover new skills. Being part of the industry since 2013 has given me plenty of experience in guiding my clients towards reaching their goals, and I can’t think of anything else I’d rather do. I absolutely love my job at GO Fitness motivating, inspiring, and teaching. It allows me to help people of all ages to reach their potential and achieve their goals every day.

After an OE in Europe and Australia, I went on to study for a Bachelor of Education and Diploma of Teaching, then went on to teach for 11 years in the classroom and specialising in Dance and Drama. In both classroom teaching and my current role I have greatly enjoyed teaching and guiding people to move their bodies!

My personal fitness story is similar to many others: as I started my professional career and became more stressed and busy, taking care of myself fell by the wayside. After realising how much the weight gain and being unfit was affecting me, I joined a gym and fell in love with boxing classes. This got the ball rolling and I started running, eating healthier, and feeling better in my skin. Rediscovering my fitness also led to eating a more nutritious diet—I realised the value of fueling my body properly. After 8 months of hard work and determination I had lost nearly 20 kgs!

I know how important it is to find a fitness habit and routine that excites and interests you enough to keep going and build momentum. From that first boxing class, I expanded my horizons to strength training, full and half marathons, a tough mudder, a half iron man, and some adventure races. I love the motivation that training for an event can provide—in conjunction with good training support.

Following my passion for fitness meant studying personal training and Classical Pilates instruction whilst still working full time. Eventually and after a lot of hard work, my job title changed from “teacher” to “personal trainer/pilates instructor”. I also became a Netfit Personal Training Advisor - an education provider for the fitness industry.

Now, I have the privilege of training clients in general strength, fitness and Pilates, helping them to discover the new lease on life and movement that I found myself many years ago. My specialty is in training for strength and conditioning, endurance sports/races, and rehab/mobility. I instruct Pilates classes as well as working one-on-one with children to develop their physical and mental sports performance skills. It’s an incredible way to spend my days.
